Bruce Hancock and Sean Miller received the Australasian Pacific Extension Network (APEN) Rural Extension & Innovation Systems Journal Award for Best Field Notes Paper at biennial conference in Brisbane on 14 -16 October, 2025 for their paper, “SA Livestock Consultants: Building the Next Generation of Livestock Professionals.”
AUASA Elects New Committee at AGM and Celebrates a Successful Year

The Adelaide University Agricultural Students’ Association (AUASA) held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 21 October. This event marked both the election of the new 2026 committee and the close of a successful and eventful 2025.
Recently, the Compendium team was privileged to have the opportunity of learning from leading rural communicators in a busy media training day. The day began with a trip to the Stock Journal, South Australia’s go-to newspaper for all things agriculture, and ended with a social media marketing run-down with co-founder of Ag Communicators, Belinda Cay.
Student tour showcases the diversity and innovation of South Australian agriculture

First-year Agricultural Science students from the University of Adelaide recently embarked on a four-day field tour across South Australia, exploring a wide range of agricultural enterprises spanning the Southeast, Mallee, and Riverland regions. The trip offered students valuable, hands-on exposure to contrasting production systems and highlighted how technology, environment, and management strategies interact across industries.
