AIA Ethics Masterclass: The Rising Tide of Ethics in Australian Agriculture

Ethical dilemmas. We’ve all had them, and seen the ramifications for careers and reputations if they’re handled poorly. But what steps can you take when the prevailing culture doesn’t support the right thing to do? Which stakeholder do you prioritise? 

The NSW Division of the AIA will be the first to host the delivery of a national series of Ethics Masterclasses for students, early and mid career professionals and academics.

This Ethics Masterclass will tackle these vexed questions that are becoming more preeminent in Australia as time passes. Now is the time to tackle these issues for your business and for your conscience, and develop skills in working with ethical dilemmas. 

Event Details

It will be held on Thursday 31 October 5-7 pm at University of Sydney Business School (Abercrombie Business School Study Lecture Theatre 2080). For AIA members (and non-members) contemplating enrolling the CAg scheme, this is an important step in the accreditation process to becoming Chartered i.e. a CAg.

The first half of the session will be an introduction to the Ethics Masterclass. The second half involves valuable practical breakouts working with real ethics dilemmas in group situation with renowned experts in the field.

The breakout session will be facilitated by AIA specialists and will include:

  • data scenarios in agtech
  • animal welfare versus farmers rights 
  • others will be offered on the day depending on enrolments


The issues will be dealt with broadly with wide ramifications for diverse agriculture dilemmas so don’t be put off by the specific nature of the topics.

Non AIA Members $150

Participants receive a certificate and 10 CPD points toward CAg ad CAg accreditation schemes
