Call for AIA Director Nominations

Thu 12 Mar 2020

Dear Member

Do you share the AIA’s Vision of developing a thriving agricultural and natural resources sector underpinned by good science, management and professional services? As an AIA Member, are you ready to “step up to the plate” and take a leadership role in building the capacity and influence of Australian Agricultural and Natural Resource Professionals to help reach that Vision? If you can answer “yes” to both of these questions, then a great opportunity exists for you to help shape agricultural and natural resource policy for both our organisation and industry more generally by nominating to be a non–executive director of the AIA.

Taking on a role as a director on the board is a wonderful opportunity to engage with, and work alongside, fellow passionate and committed members and contribute to the development and future of your Institute. Our directors come from a diverse range of backgrounds – including: public and private sectors, academics and researchers, agricultural and management consultants, leading primary producers and agribusiness personnel. Members who are eligible to hold office are invited to submit an Expression of Interest in standing for election as a Non-executive Director of the AIA. New directors will be appointed at the Annual General Meeting in April this year.

To broaden its current professional experience and skill set, the board is particularly looking to add directors who; are leaders in their fields of agriculture and natural resources from a range of both scientific and management disciplines; who have experience, empathy and strong networks with professionals working in these sectors; and who have experience as active members and office bearers of their AIA Divisional Committees and understand the professional needs of our members.

In particular at this time we are seeking a professional with dual rural CAg and accounting CA or CPA qualifications and experience.

This
nomination form and skills matrix (linked here) should be completed and sent together with your C/V (including fields of competence and career goals) and a headshot to admin@aginstitute.com.au by 5pm AEDT, Thursday, 12th March 2020

Further information can be sought from AIA National Office
admin@aginstitute.com.au or from the Chair, Nominations Committee, Bruce Robinson on 0407 423 503.

The AIA board has a commitment to gender, age, geographic and professional diversity.
