The Tasmanian Division’s latest guest-speaker and networking dinner was a great night out. Ryan Warren’s presentation on his award-winning research into radio-tracking individual bees was fascinating and inspiring – he received a job offer in the honey industry within a minute of finishing his presentation! This demonstrates the power of these networking events which link industry, students and professionals together. Other students at the dinner received useful career insights and industry contacts, while the Tasmanian honey industry leaders learned about a new technology application which offers potential in improving hive management and crop pollination outcomes.
