Join the Tasmanian division of the Ag Institute and Tasmanian Irrigation for a tour of the Meander Valley Irrigation Scheme in northern Tasmania. See how water from the mountains is delivered to farms, and how farmers in an area of 800-1200mm average rainfall use that water. The tour will be a car-pooling/networking experience with knowledgeable local ‘tour guides’ for our interstate visitors, including a gourmet lunch at Hazelbrae House.
Following the tour, the national student competition will begin at Entally Lodge. Outstanding agricultural science students representing their State will compete for the prestigious AEV Richardson Memorial Award by presenting their research and findings.
