Please join in celebrating the achievements of two of our long-standing members.
Dr James Fisher FAIA was awarded a Fellowship of the Institute in May 2014. His talk is entitled "Knowing enough to be dangerous... in many areas". James will talk about being a generalist, thanking his many mentors and colleagues, talking about a career so far that has been one of applied research and teaching, most often integrating and trying to build on knowledge created by others.
Mr Mick Poole AM FAIA became a Member of the General Division of the Order of Australia in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List. His talk is entitled “Agricultural Innovation- a Three Legged Stool". Mick will look at a few key local innovations in WA agriculture over the last 50 or so years that he has had first-hand knowledge of, and for the last 10 minutes or so he might put the audience to work on something for the future based on what he has said.
These presentations will be followed by refreshments and snacks at 6.00 pm
