Brave New World – Ag to 2030 to Tackle Big Issues Including Drought

Tue 28, Aug 2018

Last week I travelled through the eastern and northern Riverina. I spent the day in Temora, where I grew up, and met and spoke with many folks who were working across the rural sector.

While I have seen drier times in this area, it was evident that the drought continues to have an impact in this farming area. What always amazes me is the resilience of local rural and farming communities and how they adapt to the conditions that they have to face, which includes drought.

Out of all the chaos coming out of Canberra last week, perhaps one of the positives is that our new Prime Minister is continuing the federal focus on drought.

The Ag Institute’s upcoming conference will address water issues, including drought. I encourage members to take some time out of your busy program and make the investment in attending. Please take a close look at the program: http://agconference.com.au/program and start planning which themes you are going to participate in.

We are getting numerous inquiries and registrations are coming in - we are looking forward to what is going to be a highly informative and engaging conference!
