Sarah is the Principal of boutique consultancy aurora transformations, an Approved Advisor with the Advisory Board Centre and a member of advisory and governance boards. Part corporate doctor, part empathetic boot-camp facilitator, she also provides interim executive services in agriculture and animal health.
A former executive in corporate animal health, Sarah has led marketing, sales and technical teams and was twice a NSW finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. Having an involvement in the development and commercialisation of treatments for cattle and sheep as well as horses, dogs and cats, she has a keen interest in the way these can improve the productivity of Australian agriculture.
Sarah is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, an active mentor and founder of a fund - in memory of a friend and Ag Science classmate, Kristina Hacket - to endow the first scholarship specifically for women leaders in agriculture, animal health and veterinary science at The University of Sydney.
Read more …Edmund has recently completed a Bachelor of Food and Agribusiness at The University of Sydney. Growing up on an irrigated farm outside of Griffith in southern New South Wales, Edmund has been exposed to water markets and irrigated agriculture from a young age. He has an extensive understanding of the interlinkages between agricultural production, water markets and water policy.
Since joining Aither in 2018 he has produced and delivered several high-quality reports and policy documents for a range of audiences across government, non-profit, corporate and academic sectors. He has conducted research and engaged with stakeholder on a variety of topics including water markets, corporate water risk, water policy and irrigated agricultural production.
Prior to joining Aither, Edmund worked at the International Rice Research Institute where he worked with various stakeholders along the rice supply chain to improve safety in rice production. In addition, Edmund’s academic pursuits at University include research of water availability in the Murray-Darling Basin under climate change predictions and the implications for irrigated agricultural enterprises. He is also a member of the Ag Institute Australia and Sydney Institute of Agriculture.
Edmund brings a multidisciplinary approach to his work, combining skills and knowledge from his professional experience as an analyst, academic studies in food and agribusiness and his personal background in agriculture. Edmund’s ability to combine these different ways of thinking and understanding enables him to engage with complex problems, quickly grasp the issues and contribute useful insights.
Read more …Elizabeth has 6 years’ experience in animal health research including parasitology and toxicology of ruminant livestock. Elizabeth is currently involved in teaching the animal health subject at La Trobe University to animal science and agriculture students. She is involved in engaging student learning through practical classes and workshops focused on immunology and parasitology of livestock. She is also involved in improving the dairy genomic predication system for the production of Australian Breeding Values for Datagene, as well as updating various public documents. Whilst studying, Elizabeth has gained experience on a suburban hobby farm, teaching children about farm animals, has completed a 2-month internship on an egg farm, and a short course on ovine management and shearing.
Elizabeth’s dedication to the agriculture industry is demonstrated through her continued involvement in teaching and research, as well as her continued membership as a Victorian Division committee member, where she has been involved in organising student-focused events and has started a Facebook page for AIA students.

Dr. Turlough Guerin has 20 years’ experience in corporate environmental management and major projects in the energy, resources, communications technology and construction sectors. Companies he has worked for include First Solar, Telstra, Shell, Rio Tinto, Chevron, and Kaiser Engineers.
He is currently the Chair of the Board of Advisors at the Climate Alliance Limited, a Non-Executive Director at Bioregional Australia Foundation, and is on the Governance and Risk Committee of Australia's largest community radio station. Turlough is also the Science Editor at the Australian Institute of Agriculture, and has held several local and state government-supported community board roles.
He is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. His PhD, from the University of Sydney, was on chlorinated pesticides and their fate in the environment. In his roles and on projects throughout his career, Turlough has interfaced widely with the agricultural sector and regional Australia.

Professor Daniel Tan is a Professor of Agronomy at the University of Sydney, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK (SF HEA) and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He graduated from the University of Queensland with a BAppSc (Hort Tech) (Hons 1) in 1991 and a PhD in 1999. In 1993, he was a senior executive at Keppel Land International Ltd in Singapore and led the project management of the US$150 million Sedona Hotel projects in Yangon and Mandalay, Myanmar. In 2003, he accepted a lectureship in agronomy in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment (FAE). He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010, to Associate Professor in 2015 and to Professor in 2021. Daniel is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture and he was elected a Director for the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology in 2015 and re-elected in 2017 and 2000.
